Sheryl Fisher/Secrets

I read somewhere that you should give up a secret to find your true self. I wrote down some of my private thoughts, but felt exposed and vulnerable. My first reaction was to cover or rip up the papers, but then decided to express my emotions through my abstract art. The development in these works mirrors the exploration of confined inner thoughts, responding to them, and releasing them with the risk of disclosure. Innuendo through applications of various materials reveal the secret. The cathartic process is visual enactment of the process of internalizing feelings, and then setting them free.
